I have always been vaguely conscious of my privacy settings in Facebook. When they made a well publicised change at the end of 2009 I set all of them to “Friends Only” apart from “Send me a message” which remains on “Everyone” so that I can be contacted by people who think that they know me.
After reading a piece about another change announced yesterday at the Facebook Developers’ Conference I realised how much the applications that I use can access my data too. Consequently I have removed all bar one, Diplomacy, which will go as soon as my current game is finished. I suggest that you do the same.
