For the last few years I have carried a FitBit One tracker. My interest is primarily in activity, sleep and weight logs. Quite soon after buying the FitBit I signed up for their premium service, mainly because of the facility to export stats, in case I ever want to use a different system. Today, I wanted to export my data for the first time and was amazed by what I found.

Firstly, export is no longer a premium feature, which makes me regret renewing my subscription, and even more annoyingly the export tool now only handles one month at a time and in a format that jumbles four different reports together. In my case that means I have to run and recombine over 100 different reports. This, from a company that makes a fuss about “Your data belongs to you!” is pretty rich.
